When to visit Sikkim: a month-by-month guide

Sikkim is a year-round destination, but what you'll see changes dramatically with the season. Here's how to match the month to the trip you want.

March to May — rhododendrons & clear skies

Spring is arguably the best window: hillsides bloom with rhododendrons, the air is crisp and Kanchenjunga views are reliably clear. Yumthang Valley's flowers peak in April.

June to September — green, lush, wet

The monsoon brings heavy rain and the occasional landslide, but also the greenest landscapes and the fewest crowds. Good for budget travellers who don't mind flexible plans.

October to February — sharp views & snow

Post-monsoon autumn delivers the sharpest mountain views of the year. By December–January, high points like Nathu La and Lachung see snow — magical, if you're prepared for the cold.
